A recent study was published by Harvard reporting that fluoride can affect the IQ of children. The study compared children who reside in communities exposed to high levels of fluoride in their drinking water and children who are not exposed to fluoride or have had minimum exposure. This study was funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH).

Prior to this report, there have been countless studies linking fluoride to brain damage. These other reports have studied 23 humans and over 100 animals, all of which showed affected brain functions after constant fluoride exposure. Despite all these reports, 70% of public drinking water still has fluoride–a disappointing fact because this shows that the medical and dental communities are not taking the issue as seriously as they should. Other adverse effects of fluoride are cancer, muscle disorders, arthritis and a weaker immune system.

While the medical and dental communities may not be paying much attention on the issue, the chiropractors at ChiroCarolina® Charlotte are very concerned about the results of all the studies conducted on fluoride effects since some of the disorders are under their field.
